Feel free to use plain ketchup to top this delicious simple meatloaf recipe,or serve with ketchup on the side.
I usually use 85% ground beef because of the flavor,but 90% will work as well.

Ingredients

2 large
eggs,lightly beaten
1/2 c
milk
1 c
bread crumbs, dry
1/2 c
finely chopped onion
1 1/4 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
ground black pepper
1/2 c
ketchup(plus more for topping,if desired)

GLAZE TOPPING

4 Tbsp
ketchup
4 Tbsp
maple syrup
2 Tbsp
dijon mustard
1 tsp
worcestershire sauce

How to Make SOUTHERN STYLE MEATLOAF

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350.
  • 2In a large bowl,combine the ground beef,eggs,milk,bread crumbs,onion,salt & pepper,and 1/2 cup ketchup.

    Mix until well blended and pack into a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

    Mix glaze topping and set aside.

    Bake the meatloaf for 1 hr and 10 min.
    Carefully drain off any excess grease and top with the glaze topping.

    Bake for 10 to 15 minutes longer.
    Remove from oven and let rest 5 minutes before serving.
