My sister shared this recipe with me, although I did my own tweaking to suit my family.

Ingredients

2 lb
ground beef
1 3/4 -2 c
crushed, ritz crackers
1
onion, minced
1 small
red or green bell pepper, chopped fine
2
eggs, plus one extra yolk, beaten
3/4 c
ketchup
1/4 c
milk
1 1/2 tsp
garlic salt
1/2 tsp
each - salt & pepper

SAUCE FOR TOP OF MEATLOAF

1/2 c
ketchup
1/2 tsp
garlic salt
3/4 tsp
dry mustard
1 1/2 Tbsp
mollasses
1/4 tsp
pepper

How to Make Meatloaf

Step-by-Step

  • 1Preheat oven to 350 degree F.

    Mix all ingredients together & shape into a loaf. ( Sometimes I place a couple strip of bacon on top).

    Place in loaf pan or on rack over a sheet pan.
    Bake for an hour.

    Make sauce while loaf is baking: just mix all ingredients in a bowl and set aside.


    After loaf has baked an hour, apply sauce, evenly over the top and continue baking for another 20 - 25 minutes.
