heart-shaped meatloaf
I also like to 'stuff' my meatloaf with grilled onions, mushrooms and/or spinach. Just put half the meat mixture into your pan, top with the stuffing ingredients and then top with the remaining meat mixture. Delish!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1/3 cup oatmeal or bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt or adobe seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 1-2 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 medium onion, diced (or sliced if using as stuffing)
- 1-2 cup spinach (optional)
- 1/3 cup barbecue sauce or ketchup
How To Make heart-shaped meatloaf
-
Step 1Mix all ingredients together in bowl. Place in a heart-shaped baking pan. If you don't have a heart-shaped baking pan, cook the meatloaf first in an 8x8 baking pan so that it holds its shape while in the oven. Then, remove it from the oven and trim it to shape after it's cooked.
-
Step 2If you like, saute the mushrooms, onions and spinach in a saute pan first. Then, layer 1//2 of the meatloaf mixture into the pan. Layer the sauted vegetables on top. Then top with the remaining meatloaf mixture.
-
Step 3Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
-
Step 4Top/decorate as you like. Use a squirt bottle of ketchup or BBQ sauce to write "I love you" or put a heart shape on top of the meatloaf. Enjoy!
