This is a simple but delicious recipe that I came up with one evening when I was trying to figure out how to make plain old rice not so plain. I wanted something different, something I hadn't had before.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup long grain rice; i prefer zataran's
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (5 ounce can) skinless, boneless pink salmon
  • - garlic powder; to taste
  • 1 teaspoon chives, dried
  • - lemon juice; to taste
  • - butter or margerine

How To Make salmon rice

  • Step 1
    Bring to boil, water and salt
  • Step 2
    Add rice, stir until boiling again, then lower heat to simmer, cover. Let simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
    Add butter or margerine, and salmon, (not drained), garlic powder, chives and lemon juice.Stir well and let simmer for another 5 minutes. Serve hot.
