legal seafood style scallops
Whenever we get back to Mass., we make a beeline for a Legal Seafood Restaurant. After loosing this recipe I finally found it again in a pile of newspaper clippings. I had tried to recreate it several times but was always missing the buttermilk. This is our favorite way to eat scallops.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds sea scallops
- - salt and pepper
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, minced
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups crushed ritz crackers
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 - small lemon, halved
How To Make legal seafood style scallops

Step 1Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Step 2Place scallops in a bowl, season with salt and pepper, add thyme and buttermilk and toss to coat

Step 3Place scallops with buttermilk in the bottom of an oven proof dish, top with cracker crumbs and drizzle with butter

Step 4Bake for 20 minutes, squeeze lemon over scallops and serve
