Fried rice is so easy to make and can be made using any kind of meat. I normally use chicken, ham or beef, but this recipe calls for shrimp and chicken. Again I stress that if you are allergic to shellfish, use caution and rubber gloves to make this.

Ingredients For tammy's fried rice

  • 3 Tbsp
    canola oil
  • 1 md
    onion, chopped
  • 2 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 lb
    chicken tenders, skinless, diced
  • 1 lb
    medium shrimp, tails removed and cleaned
  • 1 c
    carrots, shredded
  • 1 box
    (10-oz) frozen petite english peas
  • 3 Tbsp
    soy sauce
  • 2 c
    rice, uncooked
  • 1
    egg, scrambled

How To Make tammy's fried rice

    In a skillet, add canola oil and saute onion and garlic for 3 minutes. Add chicken to the skillet; cook for an additional 5 minutes and then add shrimp; cook for 3 minutes.

    In skillet, add shredded carrots, peas and soy sauce; let simmer for 5 minutes.

    Cook rice according to package, add to mixture, and cook until heated through. Scramble egg, chop and add to mixture. Serve with egg rolls.
