This is one of my family's favorite recipes. We typically service it with rice pilaf. The sauce is the best part of the dish. I sometimes double the sauce recipe since everyone loves it so much.

Ingredients

  • 4 - chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 4 slices swiss cheese
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup croutons - grated
  • 1/2 cup croutons - whole

How To Make swiss chicken

  • Step 1
    Arrange chicken breasts in shallow greased baking dish
  • Step 2
    Place one slice of cheese on each chicken breast
  • Step 3
    Mix soup, lemon juice, mayonnaise and white wine in a small bowl
  • Step 4
    Pour mixture over chicken breasts and cheese
  • Step 5
    Dot with butter
  • Step 6
    Sprinkle grated croutons on top
  • Step 7
    Sprinkle whole croutons on top
