This is one of my family's favorite recipes. We typically service it with rice pilaf. The sauce is the best part of the dish. I sometimes double the sauce recipe since everyone loves it so much.

Ingredients

  • 4
    chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • 4 slice
    swiss cheese
  • 1 can(s)
    cream of celery soup
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/4 c
    mayonnaise
  • 1/4 c
    white wine
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    croutons - grated
  • 1/2 c
    croutons - whole

How to Make Swiss Chicken

Step-by-Step

  1. Arrange chicken breasts in shallow greased baking dish
  2. Place one slice of cheese on each chicken breast
  3. Mix soup, lemon juice, mayonnaise and white wine in a small bowl
  4. Pour mixture over chicken breasts and cheese
  5. Dot with butter
  6. Sprinkle grated croutons on top
  7. Sprinkle whole croutons on top
