Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound chicken cut up into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 can pinapple chunks (8 oz)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup onion, chunked
  • 1 - green pepper, chunked
  • 1 - small jar of maraschino cheeries
  • 4 cups hot cooked rice

How To Make sweet and sour chicken

  • Step 1
    Mix broth and cornstarch. Set aside.
  • Step 2
    Brown chicken in oil. Drain. Set aside. In same pan lightly stir fry pepper and onion. Add pineapple, vinegar, and sugar. Heat to boil, then add cornstarch mixture. Stir until thickened and boils.
  • Step 3
    Return chicken and simmer 5 minutes. Add cherries. Serve over rice.
