My two grandsons love this chicken. It is an easy , fast meal. Cook the rice or noodles at the same time and toss a green salad together and you are ready to serve in 30 mins.

Ingredients

  • 8 - skin on chicken thighs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce, low sodium
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 clove garlic ( peeled and minced)
  • 1-2 tablespoon red chili pepper paste
  • 1 tablespoon oil

How To Make momma c's sticky chicken

  • Step 1
    Place all ingredients except chicken in a saucepan over high heat.
  • Step 2
    Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer.
  • Step 3
    While bringing the ingredients to a boil,Brown chicken in oil (this is for texture and color) just until a nice golden brown on all sides.
  • Step 4
    Place the browned chicken in the saucepan, turn the heat up and frequently turn the chicken in the liquid. Continue cooking until the liquid has reduced to a sticky glaze about 20 mins. Skim any scum off the top as you are cooking.
  • Step 5
    Arrange the chicken on a platter, pour the remaining glaze over chicken.
  • Step 6
    I serve this over rice with a green salad.
