Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 2 stalks lemongrass
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

How To Make lemongrass chicken

  • Step 1
    Cut chicken into bite sized pieces. Chop lemongrass finely 1/4 inch from the bulb.
  • Step 2
    Heat oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or wok.
  • Step 3
    Add lemongrass, garlic and red pepper flakes. Cook 5 minutes until aromatic.
  • Step 4
    Add chicken pieces and stir fry 5 minutes until browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Step 5
    Reduce heat to medium-low. Melt sugar until it caramelizes. Stir in chicken mixture until it is coated.
  • Step 6
    Add fish sauce and water. Cook stirring gently for 15 minutes or until chicken is done. Serve with rice.
