general tao's chicken my way
This is so good. I am not a huge fan of a lot of heat I prefer it to be sweet with a small touch of heat. So I modified this recipe to make it happen. Yummmm

Ingredients
- - sauce
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 - inch piece ginger minced
- 1 - red chilies, minced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup shaoxing chinese wine or sherry
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup mirin
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- - meat
- 3 pounds chicken cut into chunks
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1 cup cornstarch
- - vegetables
- 2 cups broccoli florets blanched in salted water
- 1 cup green onions chopped
- - oil for deep frying
How To Make general tao's chicken my way

Step 1Mix all ingredients for sauce together and refrigerate until ready to use. I use a large mason jar to mix sauce and then just shake it up good before using

Step 2For the meat mix soy sauce cornstarch and egg together. Dredge the meat in the mixture coating well. Coating will be sticky. Cook in 350 degrees hot grease or deep fryer and drain on paper towels.

Step 3Take sauce out of fridge and pour into large sauce pan. Cook until start to boil and thicken. Add chicken, broccoli, and green onions. cook until warmed through. Serve over rice.
