This is an old recipe - one of which I relied on in my early bachelor days. I would invite a date to my home for dinner. They were probably expecting frozen pizza or oatmeal and were pleasantly surprised. Easy and delicious recipe.

Ingredients

  • 4 - half chicken breasts
  • 4 slices ham (i like black forest ham)
  • 4 slices cheese (swiss guyere is best)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 bunch chopped parsley

How To Make easy chicken cordon bleu

  • Step 1
    Flatten the chicken breasts (between sheets of wax paper or clear wrap) with the flat side of a knife or with a bottle.
  • Step 2
    Top each breast with the cheese and then the ham. Secure with toothpicks.
  • Step 3
    In Skillet, brown chicken in the butter (chicken side down) for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Step 4
    Stir in soup and the milk. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  • Step 5
    Plate and top with the chopped parsley.
