One of my families favorite chicken dishes. So simple, tender and tasty. Enjoy!

prep time 15 Min
cook time 1 Hr 30 Min
method Bake
yield 4 - 6

Ingredients

  • 8 - 12 - bone in, skin on chicken thighs
  • kosher - salt & pepper
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 - shallot, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 teaspoon each - pepper & ground ginger - or more to taste
  • 1/2 cup green onion, sliced

How To Make ~ crispy korean inspired thighs ~

  • Step 1
Mix the soy, honey, sesame oil, pepper, ginger, garlic and shallots in a small to med saucepan, bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer, and continue cooking until coats the back of a spoon. Or reduce to desired thickness. Set aside. Right before serving I reheat the sauce, just a bit and add the green onions.
  • Step 2
Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Rinse thighs and place skin side up on baking sheet. Salt & pepper evenly. Bake for 1 - 1 1/2 hours or until fall off the bone tender and skin is crispy. You can either pour sauce over chicken and bake for the last half hour, basting occasionally or glaze as plating. Which is what I did. ( I find that the sauce burns too quickly if baking on the chicken. )
  • Step 3
Once chicken is tender & crisp, plate and glaze as serving or can serve a small cup of the sauce for dipping. ( I glaze as serving. ) Enjoy! Very tasty.
