I understand real coq au vin should be with red wine, but this is what she uses and we love it!

Ingredients

  • ·
    boneless chicken pieces
  • 1/2 c
    flour (approximate)
  • ·
    garlic powder
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 1
    onion, diced
  • ·
    olive oil
  • 1 c
    chicken broth
  • 1 c
    wine, riesling
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    tomato paste

How to Make Coq au vin

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper in a zip loc bag
  2. Shake chicken pieces in flour mixture
  3. Heat olive oil in pan, sauté onions until translucent, then add chicken and brown
  4. Add tomato paste to chicken broth.
  5. Once chicken is browned add chicken broth mixture and wine. Cover and cook until chicken is done
