Ingredients
- - 3 ½ lb. chicken
- - 3 carrots
- - 3 stalks celery
- - 3 cloves garlic
- - rub for chicken:
- - ½ tsp. salt
- - ½ tsp. black pepper
- - ½ tsp. turmeric
- - ½ tsp. curry powder
- - 2 tablespoons olive oil
- - dumplings:
- - 1 cup flour
- - 1 tbs. baking powder
- - 1 tsp. sugar
- - ½ tsp. salt
- - ½ tsp. black pepper
- - 1 tablespoon margarine
- - ½ cup milk
How To Make chicken with dumplings

Step 1Preheat Oven 350 degrees: Combine the ingredients for the rub in a small bowl. Place cleaned chicken in a baking pan. Rub the chicken with the rub-mixture. Place carrots, celery and garlic around the chicken. Fill the baking pan half-way with water. Bake the chicken 55-60 minutes or until the juices run clear. For the Dumplings: Place the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add the margarine. Cut the margarine until crumbly. Add the milk while stirring. Take the broth and veggies from the cooked chicken and place in a sauce pot. Heat the broth to simmering and spoon dumplings into the pot. Cover and let simmer for approximately fifteen minutes. Serve the chicken broth and dumplings with the chicken.
