I found this recipe and it is just like a dish my mother used to make. I love this!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped cooked chicken
  • 2 cups finely chopped celery
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 can (4-ounce) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1 can (10-3/4 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 1 can (6-ounce) can french-fried onion rings

How To Make chicken casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl, stir together chicken, celery, cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, water chestnuts, coup, and almonds. Spoon into prepared baking dish.
  • Step 3
    Bake, uncovered for 30 minutes. Sprinkle onion rings evenly over top and bae an additional 5 minutes or until bubbly around the edges. Let stand for 5-10 minutes before serving.
