Ingredients

BRINE

2/3 c
salt
2/3 c
bourbon (i use jack daniels)
1/2 c
molasses
8 c
water
2 tsp
minced garlic
2 tsp
crazy chicken blend from "the spice and tea exchange"
2 tsp
brown mustard
1 c
pineapple chunks, fresh
1 tsp
pepper
8-9
chicken pieces, bone in

kc masterpiece bourbon bbq sauce

How to Make Bourbon molasses BBQ chicken.

Step-by-Step

  • 1Put salt, bourbon, molasses and water in large saucepan. Heat on medium low heat until salt melts. Add remaining brine ingredients except chicken. Heat through and cool completely.
  • 2Put chicken in a gallon bag. Add two cups of ice. Add cooled brine and refrigerate overnight.
  • 3Remove chicken from brine and dry it off.
  • 4Place chicken on grill and baste with BBQ sauce each time you turn the chicken. I usually turn every 7-8 minutes. Should be done in 35-40 minutes.
