beef and cabbage stir fry

Someone gave my husband a head of cabbage and unless I am making soup I did not know what to do with it! This is what I came up with! My husband loved it so much I had to make it again to use up the other half of cabbage.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 1/2 to 1 pounds thinly shredded beef (can used cubed beef or cubed chicked)
  • 1/2 small small head cabbage shredded
  • 2 large 1 red and 1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon corn startch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 package beef bouillon (or chicken if that is the meat used)
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

How To Make beef and cabbage stir fry

  • Step 1
    Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, and add oil. Saute garlic and onion for about 5 seconds, then add beef (or chicken). Stir-fry until beef is evenly brown. Stir in cabbage and pepper, and cook until vegetables are tender, and beef is fully cooked.
  • Step 2
    Mix together cornstarch, soy sauce, water, and bouillon. Add and stir into beef and cabbage. Season with pepper. Cook, stirring, until sauce has thickened.
  • Step 3
    Serve over cooked White Rice
