Ingredients
- 1/2 cup prepared caesar salad dressing
- 4 - boneless skinless chicken breasts cubed
- 6 slices bacon
- 8 ounces fresh mushrooms chopped
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 6 tablespoons flour
- 3 cups chicken broth
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups gruyere cheese grated
- 1/4 cup parsley chopped
- - salt and pepper
- 1 pound angel hair pasta cooked and drained
How To Make smothered chicken casserole

Step 1Marinate the chicken in the Caesar dressing 6 hours or overnight. Cook bacon and remove with slotted spoon to a paper towel. Reserve the bacon grease.

Step 2Remove chicken from dressing and shake off any excess discard the dressing. Cook chicken in bacon grease until browned. Place chicken in a greased casserole dish.

Step 3Add the butter to the pan and saute the onions, mushrooms, and garlic until softened. Stir in the flour and make a roux.

Step 4Stir in the chicken broth and the cream. cook until thickened. Remove from heat and stir in the remaining ingredients except pasta. Season to taste.

Step 5Pour over chicken in casserole. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 to 25 minutes. Serve over pasta.

Step 6Tip This is great over egg noodles also.
