This is a family favorite and is easy to make. I usually serve this with a green salad.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground italian sausage
  • 2 cans (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 2-3 teaspoons oregano leaves
  • 2-3 teaspoons basil leaves
  • 4 ounces mushroom pieces and stems, drained or 8 ozs sliced fresh mushrooms
  • 1 pound shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmeasan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 can (10 oz) refrigerated all ready pizza crust
  • 1 - egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese

How To Make pizza pot pie

  • Step 1
    Heat oven to 375. In large skillet, brown sausage; drain well. Stir in tomato paste, oregano and basil.
  • Step 2
    Spoon evenly into ungreased 13x9 inch pan. Top with mushrooms.
  • Step 3
    In medium bowl, combine mozzarella cheese, 1/2 cup parmesan cheese and parsley. Spoon over sausage and mushroom mixture. Unroll pizza crust; press or roll to 13x9 inch rectangle. Place crust over cheese mixture; seal edges. With sharp knife, cut 1 inch slit in top of crust. Brush with egg; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese.
  • Step 4
    Bake for 30-40 minutes or until crust is golden brown. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
