An easy, delicious casserole. The first meal I ever made as a new bride and it was wonderful. Serve with a salad and rolls.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 2/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • 1 can (16 ounce) baked beans
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (optional)

How To Make meatball and baked bean casserole.

  • Step 1
    Mix ground beef, evaporated milk, bread crumbs, 1 tsp. salt, and pepper. With wet hands, shape into 1-1/2 inch balls.
  • Step 2
    Brown in a large skillet in butter with onions.
  • Step 3
    Cover, cook over low heat 10 minutes. Drain off fat, if any.
  • Step 4
    Add mixture of baked beans, 1/8 tsp. salt, catsup, brown sugar and dry mustard. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
