This was one of the first recipes I ever tried. I love the mixture of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages ground beef
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese
  • 8 ounces cheddar or provolone cheese
  • 8 ounces shell macaroni
  • 16 ounces spaghetti sauce with mushrooms
  • 3 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 1/2 pints sour cream
  • - salt and pepper
  • - worcestershire sauce, tabasco a few drops

How To Make hamburger-sour cream casserole

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Saute chopped onions. Add hamburger and brown. Add tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, mushrooms, & seasonings. Simmer 45 mins.
  • Step 2
    Cook pasta until tender and drain. In a 10 x 13 dish put a layer of macaroni, then the meat sauce, 1/2 of the sour cream, and the cheddar or provolone cheese.
  • Step 3
    Put another layer of macaroni, meat sauce, remaining sour cream, and mozzarella cheese last. Cover with foil and bake at 350 until bubbly. Then uncover and continue baking until the cheese melts.
