This is so good. Totally comfort food at its finest. So creamy and cheesy. Sometimes I had mushrooms but this time I was making it for my grandchildren who don't like mushrooms. Sort of a cross between chicken and noodles and green bean casserole. Delectable.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag noodles
  • 1 bag frozen green beans
  • 2 cups cooked chicken cut up
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 - knorr homestyle chicken bouillon
  • 2 cups each chicken broth and heavy cream
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese
  • TOPPING
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 2/3 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup pamesan cheese

How To Make creamy chicken and noodles with green beans

  • Step 1
    Cook noodles in boiling salted water about 15 minutes adding the frozen green beans in at the last 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add butter to saute pan. Saute the onions and garlic until translucent. Stir in flour and make a roux.
  • Step 3
    Slowly add the chicken broth and heavy cream cook until thickened. Stir in sour cream and shredded cheese. Cook until cheese is melted.
  • Step 4
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a baking pan with cooking spray. Mix the noodles and green beans with the cheese mixture. Pour into baking pan.
  • Step 5
    Melt the 6 tbsp. of butter and add the panko and parmesan cheese. Sprinkle over top of casserole. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 10 minutes to brown the top.
