chilies rellenos bake

This is a recipe from my mom. It is not very spicy, but she is! ;-)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cans 4 oz whole green chilies (cut in half crosswise and seeded)
  • 6 ounces sharp cheddar cheese shredded
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 4 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • several dash tabasco, to taste

How To Make chilies rellenos bake

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Brown beef and onion. Drain the fat and sprinkle with the salt and pepper.
  • Step 2
    Place half the chilies in a 9 x 13 baking dish or a lasagna pan. Sprinkle with cheese and top with meat mixture. Place the rest of the chilies over the meat.
  • Step 3
    Combine the remaining ingredients, beating until smooth. Pour over the meat and chilies mixture. Bake at 350 for 45 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted off center comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes.
