I got this recipe a from a friend a long time ago. It is tasty and I am not even a fan of red sauce. I modified it a bit.

    egg noodles 8 oz
  • 1 lb
    ground beef
  • 1 c
    cottage cheese
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1 jar(s)
    tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 1/2 c
    cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3/4 c
    mozzarella cheese, shredded

How to Make Baked Noodles in Sour Cream


  1. preheat oven to 350.
  2. cook noodles according to package directions. drain and set aside.
  3. In stockpot or dutch oven, melt butter and brown meat. (can also use ground turkey instead of beef).Add seasonings and onions and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, combine noodles, cottage cheese and sour cream. Spoon half of mixture in bottom of 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. cover with meat/sauce mixture. Top with remaining noodle mixture. Sprinkle cheeses on top.
  5. Bake 20-25 minutes until cheeses melt.
