I got this recipe a from a friend a long time ago. It is tasty and I am not even a fan of red sauce. I modified it a bit.

egg noodles 8 oz
1 lb
ground beef
1 c
cottage cheese
1/2 c
chopped onion
1/2 tsp
1/2 tsp
1/4 tsp
garlic powder
1 Tbsp
1 jar(s)
tomato sauce 15 oz
1 c
sour cream
1/2 c
cheddar cheese, shredded
3/4 c
mozzarella cheese, shredded

How to Make Baked Noodles in Sour Cream


  • 1preheat oven to 350.
  • 2cook noodles according to package directions. drain and set aside.
  • 3In stockpot or dutch oven, melt butter and brown meat. (can also use ground turkey instead of beef).Add seasonings and onions and tomato sauce. Cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 4In a large bowl, combine noodles, cottage cheese and sour cream. Spoon half of mixture in bottom of 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. cover with meat/sauce mixture. Top with remaining noodle mixture. Sprinkle cheeses on top.
  • 5Bake 20-25 minutes until cheeses melt.
