turkey teriyaki burger

My cousin was on her way back to Berkley and I wanted to make her one last memorable meal while she was in Los Angeles so I knew that she love teriyaki so I decided to mak her this delicious burger, she enjoyed so much for one for the road.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground turkey
  • 1 large pineapple
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, light
  • 1 cup soy sauce, low-sodium
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 8 slices pepper jack cheese
  • 16 slices tomatoes
  • 1 medium romaine lettuce head
  • 4 large jalapenos, fresh
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, fresh, chopped
  • 8 hamburger buns, whole wheat
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher salt
  • 1/4 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

How To Make turkey teriyaki burger

  • Step 1
    Preheat the oven at 350°
  • Step 2
    In a large bowl mix turkey, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauceuntil all ingredients are incorporated. Then form into 8 half pound patties In a large frying pan add oil, and sear each patty for 2 minutes on each side on medium high heat. Once all the patties are seared place on a wire rack under a sheet pan and place in oven for 15 minutes.
  • Step 3
    In a bowl mix mayonnaise cilantro and lime
  • Step 4
    Peel and slice pineapple into 8 pieces, then remove core. Then see her on each side until the pineapple is tender.
  • Step 5
    While burgers are in the oven place with sauce and brown sugar in a small saucepan, bring to a boil them to a simmer and add ginger. Cook until slightly thickened.
  • Step 6
    Once the patties are done assemble your burger however you like to with pineapple slices, pepper jack cheese, cilantro lime mayo, teriyaki sauce, tomato, lettuce, and jalapenos
