These stuffed green chilies burgers are super flavorful. Cumin, chili powder, and garlic powder spice up the ground beef. There's a touch of heat from the pepper jack cheese stuffed in the center of the burger. They're topped with green chiles and crunchy French fried onions. A smear of the delicious cilantro ranch dressing is a tasty final touch.

Ingredients

  • 5 sprigs fresh cilantro (a small handful)
  • 3 small limes, juiced
  • 1 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded pepper jack cheese
  • 1 can diced green chilies (4 oz)
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • 4 - hamburger buns

How To Make stuffed green chilies burger

  • Blend cilantro, lime juice, and ranch dressing.
    Step 1
    Heat grill to medium-high heat. Combine cilantro, lime juice, ranch dressing in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Chill dressing until ready to use.
    Step 2
    Chill until ready to serve the burgers.
  • Mix ground beef with cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper.

  • Form 8 patties and place on parchment paper.

    Form patties about 1/8 inch thick. Place patties onto parchment paper.
  • Place 1 Tbsp of each type of cheese in the center of 4 patties.

    Take about a tablespoon of each type of cheese and put in the middle of 4 patties.
  • Top with a second patty and seal the edges.

    Take a plain patty and carefully place on top of the cheese patty. Gently press patties' edges together until all sides are closed with no cheese showing.
  • Grill the burgers.
    Step 7
    Place patty on a grill and cook on each side for 5 minutes or desired cook temp or cooks' preference.
  • Toast the hamburger buns.
    Step 8
    Toast buns on the grill for 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Assemble the burger and add green chiles on top of the hamburger.
    Step 9
    Remove dressing from the refrigerator. Build the burger by adding the stuffed burger to the bottom bun. Add a tablespoon of diced green chilies to the patty.
  • Top with French fried onions.

    Top with French fried onions.
  • Add dressing to the top bun.
    Step 11
    Dress the top bun with cilantro lime ranch dressing.
