Yummy Pot Roast

Jenny Powers

I rarely make my pot roast the same, but this one turned out so well I wrote it down. It also makes it's own gravy.

How to Make Yummy Pot Roast

  • 1Salt and pepper the meat, then dredge the meat in flour. Brown the meat in olive oil to seal in the flavor. The flour also helps to make a gravy out of the juices.
  • 2Place the meat in a crock pot that is set on high.
  • 3Add all ingredients except the carrots and mushrooms and and bring to a simmer, reduce the heat to low and cook for 4-5 hours. In the last hour add the mushrooms and carrots.
  • 4I like to serve it with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.
