Ingredients
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 ounce dry onion soup mix (1 envelope)
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 tablespoon hot pepper sauce (can adjust to taste)
- 1/8 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ketchup
- 1/4 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 4 - whole wheat hamburger buns
- 4 slices monterey jack cheese with jalapeno peppers
- 4 slices onions, optional but recommened
- 1 - avocado, peeled, pitted and sliced
How To Make updated onion burger

Step 1Preheat broiler or grill. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion soup mix, water, garlic, hot pepper sauce, chili powder, ketchup, mustard, and pepper using your hands.

Step 2Pat into 4 large thick patties.

Step 3Place them on broiler pan or grill. Broil or grill the burgers for about 15 minutes per side, or until well done.

Step 4Place buns on the broiler or grill to briefly toast.

Step 5Place burger patties onto the bottom halves of the buns and top each one with a slice of cheese, onion, and some avocado slices. Top with the top buns.
