A great way to prepare a lesser expensive cut of steak. The rub will "lock in" the moisture over high heat, for a less fatty cut.

Ingredients

  • 1 large thick cut sirloin steak
  • 1 teaspoon good olive oil
  • - rub
  • 3 tablespoons dark roast coffee, medium ground
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon brown sugar
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • - fresh ground sea salt & pepper

How To Make thick cut sirloin with cowboy coffee rub

  • Step 1
    Brush your steak with the olive oil
  • Step 2
    Mix all your rub ingredients;thoroughlly rub your steak with the rub, store refrigerated in a zip lock bag 2-24 hours.
  • Step 3
    Remove from the fridge, let stand at room temperature at least 30 mns.
  • Step 4
    Prepare coals to medium high to high heat. Cover and cook over direct heat 8 minutes per side for medium rare.
