This makes a delicious chili. Perfect on a cold Fall night. In the picture I've used ground turkey instead of beef.

Ingredients

ground beef
1 large
onion, finely chopped
2 clove
garlic, minced
1 can(s)
diced green chilies, undrained
6 c
water
2 can(s)
diced tomatoes
2 can(s)
dark kidney beans
2 can(s)
light kidney beans
2 1/2 Tbsp
chili powder
1 1/2 tsp
cumin
1 pinch
ground red pepper
1 Tbsp
salt
1/4 tsp
black pepper
1/4 c
white corn meal

How to Make Tasty Tex-Mex Style Chili

Step-by-Step

  • 1In Dutch oven, brown ground beef with onion, chilies and garlic. Drain off excess grease.
  • 2Add remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Bring just to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
  • 3Thicken by slowly sprinkling and stirring in around 1/4 cup white corn meal. This measurement is not precise, so use a bit more or less if needed.
  • 4Ladle into bowls and garnish with crushed Fritos corn chips or crackers, shredded cheese, sour cream and green onion if desired.
