This makes a delicious chili. Perfect on a cold Fall night. In the picture I've used ground turkey instead of beef.

2 lbground beef

1 lgonion, finely chopped

2 clovegarlic, minced

1 candiced green chilies, undrained

6 cwater

2 candiced tomatoes

2 candark kidney beans

2 canlight kidney beans

2 1/2 Tbspchili powder

1 1/2 tspcumin
-
1 pinchground red pepper
-
1 Tbspsalt
-
1/4 tspblack pepper

1/4 cwhite corn meal
How To Make tasty tex-mex style chili

1In Dutch oven, brown ground beef with onion, chilies and garlic. Drain off excess grease.

2Add remaining ingredients and stir to blend. Bring just to a boil then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.

3Thicken by slowly sprinkling and stirring in around 1/4 cup white corn meal. This measurement is not precise, so use a bit more or less if needed.

4Ladle into bowls and garnish with crushed Fritos corn chips or crackers, shredded cheese, sour cream and green onion if desired.
