Swiss steak

This makes a nice meal out of a bland round steak. This can be made and simmered on the stove or in a crock pot but, adjust the cooking time. In my version of this recipe, I like to blend my tomatoes in the blender for just a bit to slightly puree it; making it a little saucier….just a personal preference. :) Serve with mashed potatoes, or over noodles, or rice.

How to Make Swiss steak

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 325.
  2. Heat the oil to medium high in a large skillet, or an electric skillet.
  3. Salt and pepper the meat on both sides.
  4. Add meat to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides; approx. 10 minutes.
