This dish is always a great hit at BBQs and potlucks, for adult and children. It can be put into a slow cooker/crock pot or baked in the oven.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb
    bacon or turkey bacon
  • 1 lb
    ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 medium
    onion
  • 2 can(s)
    pork and beans
  • 2 can(s)
    kidney beans
  • 1/3 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/3 c
    white sugar
  • 1/4 c
    catsup
  • 1 tsp
    hot sauce or chili pepper
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 tsp
    black pepper

How to Make Sweet Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown bacon, ground beef/ground turkey and onion.
  2. While beef mixture is cooking mix together all other ingredient into slow cooker. (beans with juice in cans,sugars, catsup, salt, pepper, and hot sauce)
  3. Once beef/turkey is cooked add to slow cooker.
  4. Let cook on low for 5 hours. Or if you would like to bake add all ingredients into casserole dish, cover and back at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
