Ingredients

  • 1 cup 3 slices fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 pound ground round steak
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 - egg
  • 2 3/4 teaspoons salt or less
  • 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar or more
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons allspice, ground
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons nutmeg
  • 3/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 3/4 teaspoon ginger

How To Make swedish meatballs

  • Step 1
    Shape mixture into balls about 1inch in diameter. Roll balls lightly in remaining crumbs. Heat in skillet over low heat. In 3 tablespoons butter.
  • Step 2
    Add the meatballs & brown on all sides. Shake pan frequently to brown evenly. Cover & cook about 15 minutes, or until meatballs are thoroughlycooked
  • Step 3
    To serve for dinner, prepare 1 cp. Quick Meat Broth; 1 cube beg bouillon with 1 cup hot water. Remove meatballs from pan. Blend 2 tablespoons flour, 1/4 tsp. salt & little pepper into skillet. Heat until mixture bubbles. Stirring constantly, gradually add 1 cup & the meat broth. Return the meatballs to the skillet & cover. Simmer 30 min. Serve the meatballs in gravy.
