I grew up eating at this Restaurant and this copycat recipe is pretty close to their wonderful chili which they serve by the bowl or on top of french fries and hamburgers. YUM!

Slow Cooker Crock Pot

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1 1/2 lb
    ground beef
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 1
    10 oz. can french onion soup
  • 1 Tbsp
    chili powder
  • 2 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp
    freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp
    cocoa powder
  • 2
    14-oz. cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1
    6-oz. can tomato paste
  • 1
    8-oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1 c
    cola flavored drink

How to Make Steak 'n Shake Chili (copycat)

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown ground beef along with salt in oil. Drain meat and add to crockpot.
  2. Put soup in blender and blend for 1 minute.
  3. Add to crockpot along with all other ingredients.
  4. Let simmer on low for 6 hours or on high for 2 hours.
