This recipe is designed for large gatherings. I learned how to make this in 1998 while visiting friends in Houston TX. I brought the recipe home and now for every BBQ and sometimes just because my family ask me to make this.

Ingredients

  • 110 oz
    can of cooked pinto beans (rinsed & drained)
  • 110 oz
    can of pork and beans (drained)
  • 110 oz
    ranch style beans
  • 1 c
    honey bbq sauce
  • 1/2 c
    molasses
  • 1/2 c
    brown sugar
  • 1/4 c
    honey
  • 1/2 c
    mustard
  • 1/2 c
    sweet relish
  • 1 c
    diced onion
  • 1 c
    diced bell pepper
  • 2 lb
    ground chuck, cooked & drained
  • 1/2 dash(es)
    ketchup
  • 1 can(s)
    beer

How to Make South TX Style BBQ Baked Beans

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix all of the ingredients in a large chaffer pan (double the pans to make it stronger) and bake for one hour at 325.
