I have tried many recipes for Italian Beef, but this is the first. Can't remember where I found it.

Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 3 lb
    roast or london broil
  • 1 1/2 c
    beef broth
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    onion powder
  • 1 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp
    crushed red pepper
  • 1 pkg
    good seasons zesty italian dressing mix
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1
    green pepper, optional

How to Make Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwiches I


  1. Cut roast into chunks and place in slow cooker.
  2. Mix remaining ingredients (except green pepper) and pour over roast.
  3. Cook on low for 10 hours or overnight.
  4. Remove beef and shred. Strain broth and return to slow cooker. Stir in beef and cook 10 - 15 minutes longer until heated.
  5. If you like green peppers with your beef, add pepper strips on top during the last half hour of cooking. Remove and layer on top again when the shredded beef is warming.
