I got this from my sister who got it from a dear sweet lady who had it in her family for years My family loves this and I have to make it often.I have also done this with onion soup just omit the onion and saute the mushrooms add broth and then the onion soup

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper each
- 1 - egg
- 1 large onion chopped using half
- BROTH
- 1 can 10 and 1/2 oz of beef broth
- 1 can 4 oz mushrooms drained
- 1/2 - onion the other half
- THICKENER
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
How To Make salisbury steaks (homemade)

Step 1mix beef,bread crumbs.1/2 of onion,salt,pepper and the egg till well blended. shape into oval patties and cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes take out of pan and drain,leaving a little grease

Step 2in same pan saute the rest of the onion and mushrooms till onion is tender add broth bring to a boil

Step 3mix the cornstarch and water together add to broth mixture reduce heat to low add beef patties back in cover and let simmer for 10 minutes
