This is a quick and easy version of Shepherd's pie. My son likes it so much he even made it himself as a teenager. I loved having him cook for me once in a while!

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 - onion, chopped
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 dash garlic powder
- 2/3 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons margarine or butter
- 2-2/3 cup mashed potato flakes
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1 cup cheddar cheese
- - paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
How To Make quick and easy shepherd's pie

Step 1Fry ground beef, onion and peas in a skillet. Add garlic powder and pepper. Drain grease.

Step 2Add mushroom soup to mixture and transfer to a greased 9 x 13 inch casserole dish.

Step 3Boil 2-2/3 cup water, milk and butter in pan. When it comes to a boil, remove from heat and add the potato flakes stirring vigorously.

Step 4Spread the potatoes evenly over the hamburger mixture. Place cheese evenly on top of potatoes and sprinkle with paprika. Cover entire dish with tin foil and put in the oven at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove tin foil and bake an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is slightly brown and bubbly.
