poor man's stew
I got this recipe from one of my (many) mother-in-laws. She recited it to me over coffee one morning, and I've never forgot it - it's that easy and fast! My kids liked this when they were in elementary school. But later, they liked to make it when they where on their own for the first time. It's also not a bad camp fire recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1 can campbell's tomato soup
- soup can of water
- 2 - potatoes, large dice (about 1/2 inch)
- 2 - carrots, sliced 1/2 inch thick
How To Make poor man's stew
-
Step 1Brown hamburger in a dutch oven, drain off fat, add tomato soup and 1 can of water, add potatoes and carrots. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer until carrots are fork tender.
-
Step 2If you dice the vegetables smaller it will cook faster - in case everyone is really hungry.
