This recipe came from my husband's family. I added an extra pound of ground beef to the recipe, and we just love it! It makes a big pot of chili! This recipe also works well in the crock pot. Just adjust your cooking time.

Ingredients For mr. ed's chili

  • 3 lb
    ground beef, browned and drained
  • 3 can
    15 oz size, tomato sauce
  • 2 can
    28 oz size, diced tomatoes, drained
  • 3 can
    pinto beans, drained
  • 1 lg
    sweet onion, chopped
  • 6 Tbsp
    (heaping) chili powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make mr. ed's chili

  • 1
    Mix above ingredients in a large pot.
  • 2
    Bring to low boil, reduce to a slow simmer.
  • 3
    Cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally for approximately 3 hours. Making sure the onion is nice and soft.

    Serve with oyster crackers and shredded cheddar cheese. (shred your own cheese!)
