This recipe came from my husband's family. I added an extra pound of ground beef to the recipe, and we just love it! It makes a big pot of chili!

This recipe also works well in the crock pot. Just adjust your cooking time.

Ingredients

  • 3 lb
    ground beef, browned and drained
  • 3 can(s)
    15 oz size, tomato sauce
  • 2 can(s)
    28 oz size, diced tomatoes, drained
  • 3 can(s)
    pinto beans, drained
  • 1 large
    sweet onion, chopped
  • 6 Tbsp
    (heaping) chili powder
  • ·
    salt and pepper, to taste

How to Make Mr. Ed's Chili

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix above ingredients in a large pot.
  2. Bring to low boil, reduce to a slow simmer.
  3. Cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally for approximately 3 hours. Making sure the onion is nice and soft.
  4. Serve with oyster crackers and shredded cheddar cheese.
    (shred your own cheese!)
  5. ENJOY!
