This recipe came from my husband's family. I added an extra pound of ground beef to the recipe, and we just love it! It makes a big pot of chili! This recipe also works well in the crock pot. Just adjust your cooking time.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds ground beef, browned and drained
  • 3 cans 15 oz size, tomato sauce
  • 2 cans 28 oz size, diced tomatoes, drained
  • 3 cans pinto beans, drained
  • 1 large sweet onion, chopped
  • 6 tablespoons (heaping) chili powder
  • - salt and pepper, to taste

How To Make mr. ed's chili

  • Step 1
    Mix above ingredients in a large pot.
  • Step 2
    Bring to low boil, reduce to a slow simmer.
  • Step 3
    Cover, and simmer, stirring occasionally for approximately 3 hours. Making sure the onion is nice and soft.
  • Step 4
    Serve with oyster crackers and shredded cheddar cheese. (shred your own cheese!)
  • Step 5
    ENJOY!
