When I was a kid we use to eat this all the time. My dad was a hunter and we always had ground venison and ground beef around so my mom would come up with unusual ways of using the meat.

  • 1 lb
    ground beef or venison
  • 1 large
    onion chopped
  • 3 clove
    garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 3 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 2 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 8 slice
    cheese of your choice
  • 1
    pie crust shell

How to Make Mom's Sloppy Joe Pie


  1. Brown the beef, onion, garlic, and salt until meat is done.
  2. Meanwhile bake pie crust until golden about 10 minutes at 350 degrees.
  3. Add ketchup, mustard, relish, and worcestershire to meat. Stir well to combine.
  4. Put 4 slices of cheese in bottom of pie shell. Top with meat mixture. Then add the last 5 slices of cheese.
  5. Bake in oven another 10 minutes to melt the cheese.
