  • 1 lb
    lean ground beef
  • 26 oz
    spaghetti sauce (i usually use ragu or hunts)
  • 1/2 c
    italian bread crumbs
  • 1
    egg
  • ·
    soft sub bread
  • ·
    mozzarella cheese
  • ·
    garlic powder

How to Make Meatball Sub Sandwiches

Step-by-Step

  1. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, and egg in a large bowl. Form into 1 inch balls. (Makes approximately 20-24 meatballs)
  2. While forming the meatballs, pour the spaghetti sauce in a 3qt sauce pan. Heat until bubbly.
  3. Add meatballs to sauce, cover and simmer on low-med heat for 20 mins. or until done.
  4. Add butter to the inside of the sub bread, sprinkle with garlic powder (to taste), and add a small amount of mozzarella. Put in broiler until lightly toasted.
  5. Add meatballs to bread, spinkle a little more mozzarella, and enjoy! Serve with chips, side salad, veggies, tots...whatever your family likes.
