I didn't think I would like this. I thought the bread would be soggy but it wasn't it was really good. I prefer this to a regular meatball sub because it has less bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion minced
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 8 slices italian bread
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 28 ounces jar spaghetti sauce or make your own

How To Make meatball sub casserole

  • Step 1
    Mix beef with bread crumbs, onion, garlic season with salt and pepper to taste. Roll into balls. Bake the meatballs at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.
  • Step 2
    Lay the bread in a single layer on bottom of 9 x 13 pan. Combine the cream cheese, mayo,and italian seasoning. Spread over the bread. Sprinkle one cup of mozzarella cheese over top.
  • Step 3
    Lay meatballs over bread and pour spaghetti sauce over top. Top with the remaining two cups of mozzarella cheese. Bake at 350 degree for 30 minutes
