This is my Mom's receipe. My personal Favorite. This dish may be slowly simmered in a slow cooker or very quickly prepared in a pressure cooker. This is good served over rice or bread; along with a green salad. I also throw carrots into the ingredients. Is a very quick and easy complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 round steak
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1/2 cup roux
  • water
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • salt and pepper
  • worchestershire sauce

How To Make meat and tater stew

  • Step 1
    Cut steak into strips or cubes. Heat a small amount of fat in a deep skillet. Brown meat; drain fat thoroughly.
  • Step 2
    Add potatoes, roux and water to cover ingredients. (More roux may be used if needed).
  • Step 3
    Add onions and bell pepper (chopped). Season to taste with pepper (red/black), salt and worchestershire sauce. Cover and simmer until tender.
