I've done this using Round Steak, Flank Steak, and most recently (pictured) Sirloin Steak. Round Steak is best when tenderized a little. One of the kids recently called asking for this recipe, had to do a little digging, but found it. It's as yummy as I remembered it to be.

Ingredients

  • 1-11/2 pound good quality flank steak, at least 1 inch thick
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

How To Make london broil

  • Step 1
Score steak in criss-cross fashion, place in a shallow dish. Stir oil, vinegar, and garlic together, pour over steak. Cover. Allow to marinate at room temperature for 2-3 hours, flipping over frequently.
  • Step 2
Place on cold rack in broiler pan. Broil, 3 inches from heat, about 5 minutes; season with salt and pepper. Turn; broil 5 minutes more(for medium-rare); season.
  • Step 3
To serve, carve in very thin slices diagonally across grain. Serves 3 or 4.
