Ingredients

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup soft breadcrumbs (homemade)
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped green peppers
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped celery
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon water

How To Make home style meat loaf

  • Step 1
    Combine first 9 ingredients in a large bowl. Add ground chuck, stir just until blended. Shape into an 8 x 4 inch freeform loaf on a greased rack of a broiler pan.
  • Step 2
    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Combine ketchup and water. And spoon over loaf. Bake 45 minutes or until done. Yield 6 servings
