I got this recipe from my husband's mom, he's loved it since he was a kid. Not exactly healthy, but it's good for a treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb
    hamburger
  • 1/2 c
    chopped onion
  • 1/4 c
    diced green chilis or green bell pepper (optional)
  • 8 oz
    tomato sauce
  • 1/2 tsp
    chili powder
  • 3/4 tsp
    garlic salt
  • 8 oz
    can of biscuits
  • 3/4 c
    shredded monterey jack
  • 3/4 c
    shredded sharp cheddar
  • 1/2 c
    sour cream
  • 1
    egg (beaten)

How to Make Hearty Beef Bake

Step-by-Step

  1. Brown the hamburger with the onions and peppers. Mix in the tomato sauce, chili powder, garlic salt, 1/2 of the grated cheese, sour cream, and beaten egg.
  2. Butter a 8x8 pan. Press half of the biscuits together to cover the bottom of the pan.
  3. Pour the hamburger mixture into the pan over the biscuits. Cover with the rest of the biscuits and top with the other half of the cheese.
  4. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
