hamburger steak with mushroom gravy
My guys are hard to cook for because they are so picky. Well, they fell in love with this. I was looking for something different, and found 3 recipes I liked and couldn't decide on, so I adapted it to our likes. Apparently it's a keeper.

How To Make hamburger steak with mushroom gravy
-
Step 1Mix spices together & set aside. In large bowl, mix the meat, green onions, egg, bread crumbs and 1/2 the dry onion soup mix. Stir well, and add the spices. Stir again and let sit in refrigerator for about 15 minutes. It makes it easier to make the patties.
-
Step 2Shape into patties and brown on both sides on medium heat. I left the grease in the bottom of the pan for extra flavor for the gravy. When browned, remove the patties.
-
Step 3Combine the water, flour, worcestershire sauce, and the other half of the onion soup. Mix and stir into skillet. I found mine was a little thinner than I liked, so I did a quick add of more flour and whisked everything together. Add the mushrooms; bring to a boil; cook and stir until thickened. Reduce heat and put patties back in. I spooned a little bit of gravy over the meat and let it cook on low for about 10 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes or noodles.
