Grilled Smoky Brisket Burgers

These burgers were a nice surprise. The burger patty was so flavorful I didn't need to have a complex sauce - just fresh veggies, a slice of sharp cheddar cheese, and mayo made these a treat.

  • 1/2 lb
    ground beef 80/20
  • 3 slice
    brisket cooked, i used left over smoked brisket thick sliced
  • 1/4 tsp
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp
    garlic powder
  • ·
    fresh ground pepper to taste - i used about 7 turns medium ground
  • 4 slice
    thick sliced bread or hamburger buns - lightly buttered

  • 2 slice
    sharp cheddar, thick sliced
  • 2
    pickled jalapenos, sliced
  • 2 slice
  • 6 slice
    bread and butter pickles
  • ·
    fresh garden lettuce, to taste
  • ·
    mayo, or your favorite condiment, to taste

How to Make Grilled Smoky Brisket Burgers


  1. Prep your grill. While you are waiting for the coals prepare your meat mixture. In your food processor add brisket and pulse until ground as shown.
  2. Add ground beef, salt, cumin, garlic powder, and pepper. Pulse until well combined.
  3. Form into 2 equal patties.
  4. Place on grill close lid and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Flip and cook an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Bring them bad boys in and top with jalapeno slices and cheese. Cover and let set while grilling your bread or buns.
  7. Grill until light grill marks form. You don't want to over grill and make them too crunchy - just lightly crispy and warm.
  8. Assemble your burger and enjoy!
